Three community schools bagged sanitation award

SIRAHA:Three community schools in Siraha have been awarded for promoting sanitary practices in the schools.

 

The Ramesh Mahato Memorial Higher Secondary School at Majhaura, Saraswati Higher Secondary School at Jamdaha and Banbali Higher Secondary School at Naraha villages have bagged awards presented by Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers' Federation, Siraha under the 'Citizens' Voice Programme'.

 

They received cash prize of Rs. 75,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000, respectively.

 

Chief District Officer at the District Anil Kumar Thakur gave away the awards to them amidst a programme on Wednesday.

 

The Federation conducted a survey of 48 schools in the district with the help of 16 indexes it prepared before visiting the schools of them three were selected, said Chanda Narayan Chaudhary, chairman at the federation, district chapter. RSS
