Mobile-governance to expedite water projects in state capital

RANCHI: The drinking water and sanitation department is planning m-governance for better implementation of projects in urban and rural areas.


The mobile-governance, which is likely to be launched on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day, is aimed at timely "implementation of projects".


Ashish Kumar Saurabh, assistant state coordinator, documentation and publicity of the department, said, "The plan is to contact panchayat raj institutions (PRIs), jal sahiyyas and others through mobile phone and get to know about implementation of plans and projects of the department via out-bound dialler (OBD)."


OBD is a process through which computerized phone calls will be made to PRI representatives and jal sahiyyas to enquire on funds flow or progress in project implementation in a particular area. Read More....
