Every fifth hospital violating bio-medical waste norms: Pollution Control Board

BHOPAL: One fifth of hospitals and healthcare facilities operating in state capital are neither properly disposing of bio-medical waste nor are running with valid authorization. Bio-medical waste from these centres are dumped into Upper Lake either through public sewer lines or in the form of municipal solid waste.

 

However, MP Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) is yet to serve notices to violating hospitals and nursing homes citing ?lack of manpower.' Read more....
