Call of nature? Kathmandu lacks answer

KATHMANDU: There have been some praiseworthy achievements so far when it comes to making various districts an open defecation free zone. But as far as Kathmandu is concerned, scenario is rather bleak.

 

Experts point at lack of local government as the major hurdle to declare Kathmandu an open defecation free zone.

 

According to the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage, 16 municipalities, 1,430 VDCs and 15 districts have been declared ODF zones till June 21. Kaski, Chitwan, Tanahum, Myagdi, Achham, Kalikot, Mustang, Pyuthan, Baglung, Parbat, Makwanpur, Bhaktpur, Panchthar, Dang and Dadheldhura have been declared ODF zones so far. Read More....
