Hi-tech waste disposal to rid Noida of smoke

NOIDA: In a move to dispose of the city's waste in an environment-friendly manner, Noida Authority will deploy magnetic thermal waste disposal machines at two points in the city on a pilot basis within 10 days. The machines, which are propelled by Japanese technology, reduce solid waste to ash without using electricity and keep the environment safe.

 

The Authority has invited expression of interest from experts to procure the machines, officials said. During the pilot project, the machine will be installed at the district hospital and at the office of the district magistrate near Sector 27, officials said.

 

The move comes after a team of experts visited Bangalore and Vijayawada, where the machine is already in operation. "Our team studied the functioning of the hi-tech machine and we have decided to launch it on an experimental basis in Noida," said Akhilesh Singh, deputy CEO, Noida. Read more....
