WORLD POPULATION DAY - 70% in UP have no access to safe water, says census

State Scores Poorly On Quality Of Life Only one out of three homes in UP has a TV set while less than 20% households own a two-wheeler


The recently released census data on households and amenities proofs amply that even after 66 years of independence, a large chunk of population has no access to rightful services.


Uttar Pradesh, with a pop ulation of approximately 20.7 crore (as per Census department), has more than 70% people with no access to tap or safe drinking water. Similarly , 67% of households are yet to be electrified. Then, 65% households lack toilets as a result of which people head to the fields. Read more....
