A dream to row down the Yamuna

NEW DELHI: An elaborate plan has been drawn up to clean the Yamuna, beautify its surroundings and dredge it to promote river transport, Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung told The Hindu on Wednesday.

 

Mr. Jung said for development of the Yamuna, the mandate was to ensure that the water was clean and there was proper flow in the river for the better part of the year.

 

“I remember in my childhood days, there used to be good flow of water for at least eight months. And it used to be so deep that one could jump into it from a height without fear of getting hurt.” Read more....
