Toilet needed: petition

SALEM: Demanding that a new toilet be constructed in their area, residents of Indirani Nagar in Ward 3 submitted a petition to Mayor S. Soundappan here on Tuesday.

 

They said that they were using the corporation toilet in the area for the last 40 years. But recently the Councillor demolished the toilet to facilitate construction activity in nearby area that belonged to his relatives.

 

They said that residents were put to hardship now as they have no toilet facilities at their home and have to depend on public toilets in nearby areas. “We cannot afford to construct a toilet. The corporation should initiate steps to construct a new toilet in the same place,” they said. Mayor asked officials to inspect the area and take steps to construct toilet at the earliest.
