The State Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has prepared an action plan for the massive exercise. In view of problem of sanitation in villages, Chief Minister Raman Singh had directed the PHED to prepare action plan for the next three months for construction of domestic toilets. PHED Secretary Ganesh Shankar Mishra, through video conferencing held a meeting of collectors and officers of the Department in all districts in this context. In the meeting, Mishra said that the Department had prepared a three-month action plan, in which a target for construction of 99,450 concrete toilets in houses and to give tap connection to 87,400 houses has been set. He directed officers to implement the action plan promptly. Mishra said, on the directives of Central Government, the State Government has decided to observe ‘National Cleanliness Awareness Week’ in Chhattisgarh from September 26 to October 2. Chief Minister Raman Singh through video conferencing last week had directed all divisional commissioners and collectors to make preparations soon for the implementation of the priorities declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Chhattisgarh.
