SBBJ to build toilets for girls in rural Rajasthan

JAIPUR: The State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) on Tuesday announced that it would build toilets for girls in 100 government girls’ schools in rural Rajasthan. To tackle illiteracy, the government has opened schools in the rural hinterland. However, these schools are found to be lacking in proper toilet facilities, making it difficult for the girls, a statement issued by the SBBJ said.


Jyoti Ghosh, Managing Director, SBBJ, said the bank has decided to get toilets constructed in 100 government girls schools at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore. Ninety schools have already been identified.


The bank plans to complete the work by this month-end and to ensure this the entire project would be personally supervised by SBBJ team right from construction, fittings of pipelines and pumps. The toilets would be handed over to school authorities after the completion of the facility. Read more....
