HC agrees to hear plea over poor sanitation facility in Delhi

The Delhi High today agreed to hear the plea of an NGO alleging the municipal bodies have failed to improve the condition of the city despite its earlier direction.

 

Nyaya Bhoomi, an NGO, filed restoration plea before the high court alleging the government agencies have failed to improve the condition in the city despite the Supreme Court's observation in 1996 that the "historical city of Delhi, the capital of India, is one of the most polluted cities in the world".

 

Taking note of the plea, a bench of justices B D Ahmed and S Mridul, agreed to hear the plea and said it will deal with the issue along with their another petition related to water-logging in the national capital. Read more....
