Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has told the Barnala Municipal Council to ensure proper cleanliness of the town in future. The directions came after a Division Bench of the High Court was told that the town was littered with garbage.
In his petition placed before the Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Ashutosh Mohunta and Justice Harinder Singh Sidhu, Dinesh Kumar and other petitioners had averred that the entire town was “littered with filth and garbage and there is a likelihood of spread of epidemic diseases in the town due to strike by the sweepers”.
