Srinagar: After the locals stepped up to sanitize the City by burning heaps of garbage in the downtown area, Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora toured across the city this week highlighting that “sanitation” was first on their priority. He said the delay in getting things worked was due to the Government of India’s inefficiency in getting the communication lines restored at the crucial hour.
While talking to Rising Kashmir, Jora said that sanitation of the city was the main concern right now. “The irrigation department has been assigned the responsibility of dewatering and flood control. My concern right now is the sanitation of the city.”
Jora reviewed the work carried in the last few days and the preparations of the SMC along with SMC commissioner, G.N Qasba.
“Interiors of city are having heaps of garbage where our tippers can’t reach during day because it will create a traffic mess. Thus, we have to clear them in the night hours,” he said. Read more....
