Civic bodies will spend over Rs 1cr in October for Clean India

To make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Swachchh Bharat Mission a grand success, city’s civic bodies are expected to spend about Rs 1 crore in October. The campaign is focused on spreading awareness among the people, especially the youth.


North and East Delhi Municipal Corporations, according to Yogendra Singh Mann, the director of press and information, will approximately spend Rs 60 lakh and his South Delhi Municipal Corporation counterpart Mukesh Yadav said approximately Rs 30 lakh would be spent on overall campaign scheduled for October.


The expenses during the project include LCD screens at public spots, advertisements at Metro stations, hoardings, radio slots. The civic bodies have hired bridge panels, bus queue shelters, Delhi Metro stations, street furniture, public conveniences, and Metro feeder buses among others for the campaign. The New Delhi Municipal Council has been holding interactive sessions with people in the area and has booked advertisement slots owned by the corporation to bringing down the expenses.
