Gram sabha meet pledges to ensure toilet for every house

Every house should have a toilet to improve sanitation, said Collector R. Nanthagopal on Sunday.

 

He participated in the gram sabha meeting of Kandaneri panchayat in Anaicut block. He said that the State government has come up with a scheme to provide toilets in houses without the facilities. To improve sanitation in rural areas, toilets should be constructed in every house. Houses without toilets will be identified and steps to construct toilets will be taken, he said.

 

In Vellore district, 50 per cent houses lack toilets for individual use. He urged the residents of Kandaneri panchayat to bring about a situation when every house in the panchayat will have a toilet. Read more....
