Sanitation mission to study abattoirs' hygiene

KOZHIKODE: The Kerala State Sanitation Mission will entrust an experienced agency to carry out study on the existing status of slaughterhouses and to prepare a detailed project report (DPR).

 

The initiative will help the state to set up modern slaughterhouses at the identified locations to ensure the hygiene standard of the meat being sold. The move is expected to bring much-awaited relief to the Kozhikode corporation as it is among the selected local self-government bodies to carry out the study.

 

The mission will cover five corporations of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kollam and 12 municipal corporations of Alappuzha, Changanassery, Kottayam, Kannur, Vadakara, Aluva, Thiruvalla, Perumbavoor, Tirur, Palakkad, Kasaragod and Thalassery under its study.Read more....
