Rs.36.40 crore for sanitation work in illegal colonies

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation will start releasing Rs.36.40 crore for sanitation services in unauthorised colonies soon.


Standing Committee chairperson Subhash Arya said on Friday: “We will give each ward Rs.35 lakh for improving cleanliness in unauthorised colonies.”


He said Rs.10 lakh from the fund will be used to hire trucks, tractors and trolleys to remove the garbage and the debris. The rest will be used for improving roads and maintaining garbage dumps. The amount will be disbursed starting Saturday. The SDMC had earlier released Rs.50 crore for development work in 86 rural villages. Read more....
