Children take part in painting contest on ‘Swachh Bharat’

Sunday turned out to be an altogether different day for many school students in the city as they actively took part in a painting competition organised by L.V. Prasad Eye Institute at P.B. Siddhartha College here in connection with the ongoing children’s day celebrations.


The theme for the contest was ‘Swachh Bharat’. Children in the age group of five and 15 years created works in crayons, water and oil colour. A majority of the participants mainly focussed on highlighting the importance of keeping the environs clean and others listed out dos and don’ts of keeping public places clean in their paintings.


“It’s a good platform for us to utilise our talent. We request the organisers to conduct more such events to bring out the talent among the children,” said Deepika, a tenth-class student of K.S.R. Zilla Parishad High School at Patamata. Another student Sowmya from Bishop Azaraiah High School said these competitions would enable students to enhance their skills. The institute officials claimed that over 2,000 students from 40 schools participated in the contest and prizes will be distributed to them at an event to be held on November 20 here. Read more....
