Major Activity

Clean India Campaign 2014

Individual Health and Hygiene is largely dependent on adequate availability of drinking water and safe sanitation as there is a direct relationship between water, sanitation, health and hygiene practices. Consumption of unsafe drinking water, improper disposal of human excreta, environmental pollution, particularly due to open defecation practices and lack of personal and food hygiene have been the major causes for many diseases in the developing countries. India is no exception to this.

Mission “Swacch Bharat” will be launched on 2nd October, Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, to create a clean India of his dreams by 2019, his 150th birth anniversary.
